The Courtroom Of Heaven

Oh that I knew where I might find Him! That I might come even to His seat! I would order my cause before him, and fill my mouth with arguments.”

Job 23:3-4 (NKJV)

The Courtroom of Heaven can be likened to a Courtroom on the Earth. A place of relentless battle. It is a place of accusation, a place of petitioning, and ultimately a place where judgement is issued.

Some may think that a judge’s final decision is made in the Courtroom. However, the judge decides the outcome of the court case in his private chamber, in the company of his Jury. The Courtroom experience is simply the place in which the ruling is publicly announced.

Many believers are ignorant of Satan’s devices, unaware of the war which rages against them. Thus they fail to appear in the Courtroom of Heaven to plead their case before the great Judge, God our Father. Many believers fail to take up their rightful place to oppose the accusations made against them by the enemy.

Let me paint a picture for you… On the one side of the Courtroom stands the enemy – The Accuser. Revelation 10:12 says that Satan relentlessly accuses us day and night in the courtroom of Heaven. On the other side of the Courtroom stands you and I, together with the Holy Spirit besides us. The Holy Spirit is described as our “Paraklētos” which is the Greek term translated to Advocate. Together with the Holy Spirit, we become Advocates in God’s Courtroom, and our weapon is intercession.

The Hebrew word for intercession is “paga” which means “to meet”. Intercession gives us direct access to the Judge in His private chambers, pleading our case. Through intercession, we receive divine authority to contradict the accusations of the enemy. It is here where we fill our mouths with arguments, and remind God of His promises made toward us.

Isaiah 43:26Remind Me… State your case, so that you may be vindicated.”

As the great Judge hears Satan’s shouts of accusation, He hears our intercession coming forth as a sweet fragrance. The voice of the enemy is crippled by the arguments of God’s Spiritual Advocates.

Let us go to the Courtroom of Heaven!
