DAY 31 - ANOINTED

“She did what she could. She poured perfume on my body beforehand to prepare for my burial.” Mark 14:8 (NKJV)

“Christ” is derived from the word “Christos” which means “the Anointed One.”

Prophets, kings and priests were anointed by God in the Old Testament, but with Jesus, we see something different. He was anointed when He was baptised by John the Baptist, and in the verse above, we also read that Jesus was anointed with perfume. Right before His burial, a lady broke the alabaster box on His feet. This perfume was very expensive, and caused a lot of havoc!

People started slandering her and screamed out - what about the poor? We could have used all of that money for the poor! She replied with a simple saying “I did what I could.” This act that she did touched and moved Jesus’ heart so much that He said her act will be recorded, and whenever the Gospel is preached, her name will be preached also!

What are you going to do today to move God’s heart? When last did you spend time in prayer, seeking God’s face? Today is the perfect opportunity do so!

PROPHETIC DECLARATION:

“I commit myself to seek His face from this day forward, learning from the woman with the alabaster box. As I place myself at His feet, may my sacrifice be pleasing unto Him, in Jesus Name.”
