DAY 15 - THE FRUIT OF THE SPIRIT

“Though I speak with the tongues of men and of angels, but have not love, I have become sounding brass or a

clanging cymbal.” 1 Corinthians 13:1 (NKJV)

Have you ever walked past a Christian praying in tongues, and something about their prayer language seems to get under your skin? You try shrug it off, but it literally sounds like a noise and irritates your spirit?

I’ve come across this many times, and to be honest, it’s a sound that can’t just be ignored. It distracts you, pulls you out of the spirit, and grieves the Holy Ghost inside of you. That’s the sound which the above verse is referring to. When you don’t have love, you can speak in tongues, but it will come forth as a clanging symbol. It will make such a noise, that it will disrupt even those around you.

What we need to realise is that God doesn’t have love – He is love! That’s why when you get saved, you become a new creation which is formed after His likeness – which should mean that you’re also filled with His love. It’s an unconditional love and unselfish love. It reminds me of the scripture which says; “the love of God is shed abroad in our hearts by the Holy Ghost.” It is now in our nature to walk in love.

The question is, what do the World see when they look at you? What do your family, friends and colleagues see? If they see anything contrary to love, then you’re baring a false testimony of Christ.

PROPHETIC DECLARATION:

“Today, I choose to make love my greatest quest. May love be shed abroad in my heart today. I decree that those around me shall turn to Him, because of the love which radiates from me, in the mighty Name of Jesus.”
