THE HOLY GHOST OFTEN AN “UNSUNG” HERO
THE HOLY GHOST
Often an “Unsung” Hero
When it comes to the subject of rejection, we all have a story to tell. Without the mentorship of someone who can teach you how to effectively deal with the feeling of rejection, you may even fall under the category of people who are so excessively worried about it that they refuse to engage in anything even if it would benefit them, to the point that it compromises the quality of their life. But on the flip side of the coin what if you are the one that is do the rejecting, could you have been deceived into rejecting the Person and the things of the Holy Spirit?
“By Rejecting the Holy Spirit our Lives cannot be Transformed”
Now that I have left a question in your heart, let’s do some biblical introspection on this subject so that you can brand an informed response.
What does ‘rejecting’ the Holy Spirit look like and what are the consequences?
1. We cannot be born again - John 3:4-5 (NKJV)
Nicodemus questions Jesus on His statement of being born again and how that could possibly take place. Jesus explains that being born again is not carnal but a divine work that begins and ends in the Holy Spirit and is in direct proportion to our continual spiritual growth - Romans 6:3-5. When we accept the plan of God for salvation we are transferred in the Spirit from death to life and now have the Supernatural Power of God residing within us.
2. We cannot know Jesus - John 15:26 (NKJV)
3. The Bible remains the Letter of Law, Without life - 2 Corinthians 3:6 (NKJV)
When we are filled with the Holy Spirit, we become ministers of the new covenant. This is the covenant about the “almost too good to be true news” – The Gospel of Jesus Christ.
4. We will lack understanding of the scriptures - 2 Timothy 3:16 (NIV)
The Holy Spirit is the One who inspires the Word of God. He is the One who opens it up for us and gives it life.
5. We become stagnant in All Areas of our life - Genesis 1:26-28 and Ephesians 4:13 (NKJV)
The nature of Heaven implies that as His Children there must be evidence of growth, advancement and conquest in our lives. But without the Holy Spirit transformation to the measure of the stature of the fullness of Christ cannot take place.
6. Without the Holy Spirit we cannot draw close to God - John 16:13 (NKJV)
He is the One who opens our spiritual eyes to see the Lord and reveal the Father to us. He is the One who equips us with spiritual gifts to be effective in the spiritual realm. By faith and His grace, we are able to believe in the redeeming work of Jesus on the Cross for our lives.
7. The church becomes an illegal witness, lacking the Holy Spirit and His Power - John 13:20 NKJV
8. The church becomes a mere natural entity and ineffective Luke 9:1-2 and Romans 12:21 (NKJV)
9. The church becomes an entertainment center.
10. The church cannot overcome the impossible circumstances of mankind - Mark 9:23 (NKJV)
It is a well-known fact that we are faced with many situations and circumstances that are impossible to solve in the natural or by natural means. When we face impossible situations like illness, death, hunger, poverty, financial burdens and crises to name a few the church does not often have answers for these impossibilities that befall mankind because it has lost the power of the Holy Spirit. There is no way to overcome adversity without the supernatural power of the Spirit of God.
- Return to communion with the Holy Spirit and the Supernatural.
- Let the Holy Spirit flow
The truth will set you free (John 8:32 NKJV), but this scripture reference in its original text actually says, “the truth that you know, shall set you free”. The truth is the highest level of reality and it is present only where the Spirit of God dwells. Truth is Jesus Chris represented on earth by the Person of the Holy Spirit - John 14:6 (NKJV).
Someone who has had an experience with the Holy Spirit loves the truth and is hungry for it because it is what delivers us from oppression. Surrender to the Holy Spirit and give Him full control over every aspect of your life. This will allow His supernatural power to live, flow and work through you continually.
“As children of God, we owe the world an experience of the supernatural through the Holy Spirit”
