The 1st Day After The Rapture Part - 1

 

Have you ever wondered what it will be like one day after the rapture? 

Rapture is one of those serious topics that many tend to avoid as they are unsure whether they will form part those who will be raptured or not. Then you get those who simply do not believe in the rapture and others are of the mindset that to be left behind will not be so bad – that they will be able to handle it. If this is your mindset then I want to urge to re-evaluate.

It’s a very daunting thought, thinking that you might be left behind, and thus the reason for this article.

I don’t want any of you to miss the rapture. When the first ship sails make sure that no matter what you are on it. Do not allow your stubborn un-submissive flesh to reward you with regret for having missed it, thinking that I should rather have listened. 

May this article truly open your eyes and so cause you to take things more serious.  I repeat – You Cannot Afford To Miss the Rapture!

The bible says that many will look for a lion to eat them or for mountains to fall upon them, that they will lean on a wall only for scorpions to bite them, they will try to commit suicide as to escape the great tribulation but will be unable to.

The Bible further states that there is nothing to love or desire about the day of the Lord.

 

The word “mystery” is from the Greek word “mustērion” and musterion is an esoteric word, meaning that something is not a secret anymore.

1. How do you enter into a mystery?

• A mystery is something that you enter by revelation. 
• It is something that you suddenly understand in your spirit. 
• When that mystery is opened up to you, it now becomes revealed knowledge.  

Now the bible says that nobody knows “the day except the Father in heaven.    

The word “know” here is form the Greek word “Aido” meaning awareness and also extent to physical sight. The Bible also says that the trumpet shall sound and we shall all be taken in a twinkling of an eye (1 Corinthians 15:51-52). 

This means that we will not see it.  The Lord will see it, but for us it will be a twinkling moment, for a brief moment we won’t know what has just taken place.

So, when the Bible says that nobody will know the day it means that nobody will see it except for the Father.  

 

• So when did the 1^st, 2^nd, 3^rd etc trumpet sound?
• What happened to all the other trumpets because many have not heard a trumpet?
• What is the last trumpet?

The last trumpet shall sound simply means that whatever needed to happen has happened. This last trumpet will be so loud that even the dead will be raised by it. This tells us that the hearing is not with our natural ears but rather a spiritual hearing that needs to be developed.  

You are a Christian yet you have never heard a trumpet!

      3. So, what is this trumpet all about?  

 

In the above scripture the Apostle Paul used a race as a metaphor.  The Corinthian society was very competitive, foot races or athletics as we refer to it today, were a common event in such competitions.  Knowing that he is speaking to the Greeks, Paul probably had the Olympic Games in mind and used it in an analogy to help them understand what he is teaching.  

In that context the Greeks would also understand and agree that in any race only one runner can win.

²⁴ …but one receives the prize? So run, that ye may obtain…

 

4. Paul was using athletics to urge them to do what it takes to win:

 

²⁵ And every man that striveth for the mastery is temperate in all things…

The word “temperate” is from the Greek word “egkrateuomai”.  Spiritually speaking Paul was not implying that only one person can win or that we as Christians are in competition with each other.  He was using the similarity of a contestant in preparation of the games that we should mimic the same effort and dedication exhibited by these athletes. 

An athlete must be dedicated to the preparation of the upcoming event and practices much self-sacrifice and control during this time.  Paul teaches that he aims to win a prize and trains himself up spiritually by duplicating the athlete’s dedication to avoid being unprepared, unfit or even disqualified before crossing the finish line.

By comparing sports with the spiritual life of a Christian, Paul was allowing the minds of the Greeks to explore what it takes for runners to win races versus Christians in a spiritual race.

At the time that Paul was addressing the Greeks the winner of a race would only win a wreath which would eventually die, their prize was carnal and the glory thereof only temporary 

²⁵…Now they do it to obtain a corruptible crown; but we an incorruptible crown…

5. He very skilfully compared earthly glory which is temporal to eternal glory which is deathless and everlasting:

²⁶ I therefore so run, not as uncertainly; so fight I, not as one that beateth the air: ²⁷ But I keep under my body, and bring it into subjection: lest that by any means, when I have preached to others, I myself should be a castaway.

Paul took a tough approach to his own feelings and encourages us to follow suite.  By basically making his body a slave he voluntarily gave up anything which he otherwise may even have been entitled to. The 1^st description of this in the Greek dictionary is to make your body blue and black. Meaning to beat your body until it turns black and blue.  Paul teaches that we should beat our body into submission and to show zero tolerance to the nature of the flesh.

In athletics when the first whistle blows it’s an indication that the race has started.  The moment you receive Christ as your personal Saviour, the first trumpet blew – the trumpet of salvation.  I am not referring to salvation as a mere emotional act and shortly thereafter you back to your old life. I’m speaking about that true live defining moment where suddenly the Lord touched your heart and you began to weep as you encounter His true power coming unto salvation.

In chapter 9 Paul continues through the chapters in 1 Corinthians explaining the rules of the game until chapter 15 where the last “whistle” blows – the end of the game.  When you hear the last trumpet it’s all over. In a twinkling of an eye you will be taken up.

The last trumpet is basically the last blow of the whistle indicating the end of the match.  Once that “whistle” blows it will no longer matter what you do, even if you manage one more goal it won’t count because the whistle has already blown.  You may have just wanted to repent but it is now forever too late for you. 

Paul described his life as that of an athlete competing for the prize of eternity with God.  He inspires us as believers and fellow brothers and sisters of one family to pursue godliness with an unwavering commitment.  The sacrifices will be worth the cost – it will be worth a crown in eternity.
