STUBBORN FAITH
STUBBORN FAITH
Have you ever been in a situation where you wrestled with doubt? Perhaps you find yourself in that position right now? There is one thing that will move you out of doubt, from impossible to possible, and that is Faith.
There are some situations in life, where stubborn faith is required. But to understand stubborn faith, we need to first understand faith. We need to understand the importance of it, and what it can do for you.
What is Faith?
- Now faith is…This scripture is written in continued present tense, faith is right now and it continues to move. Faith is in a state of continual movement. Faith is a force that causes movement to take place. It is a tangible substance of heaven and it carries the ability to solidify the unseen. Faith is the evidence of things not seen; faith has the ability to see a thing before it manifests into the natural realm. There is no hope if you cannot see. Faith gives you the ability to have vision from an eternal perspective. (Hebrews 11:6 KJV)
- How do I get faith? Faith comes when you hear something from God. It is His voice activated in your life. Your miracles are produced according to your measure of faith because God only responds to faith (Romans 10:17 NKJV). To ‘hear’, means that you have received the Word of God into your spirit, you accept and acknowledge a truth, and a new understanding enables you to see what can be. When you ‘hear’ you receive revelation, which is the Rhema word of God that increases your faith and causes you to take action. What you hear becomes what you speak, and what you speak will determine what you attempt.
When you ‘hear’, your faith is built on the character of God not yourself.
Measures of Faith?
As believers we can move from one level of faith to another level of faith. Faith has measure. When we speak of measure, we speak of quantity, and quantity can be increased or decreased. Faith can therefore be increased or decreased (Romans 12:3 NKJV).
The three levels of faith:
- NO FAITH (Mark 4:40).
- LITTLE FAITH (Matthew 17:20-21).
- GREAT FAITH (Mathew 8:10).
Your faith is determined by your level of trust and belief in God’s truth.
However, believing and trusting, are not the same thing. Many believe in God’s word, but the question is; do you trust God’s word? Believing means that you accept His word as truth, but trust means that His word becomes a way of life for you. Trust is the position that you stand from; trust is a great level of faith.
Stubborn Faith
Stubborn faith means to purpose something in your heart, to make a decision and there is absolutely nothing that will stand in your way, and no one can convince you otherwise. This is an unmovable faith, stubborn faith. It is a faith that will set you apart and distinguish you from the rest (Daniel 1:3-8 NKJV).
There is something that you can do that no matter where you go, you will stand out and be distinguished from the rest. The bible says that Daniel had the spirit of God and therefore the spirit of excellence was upon him. He knew his identity in God. To operate in a spirit of excellence will distinguish you from the rest. It will cause you to rise above the rest. But to operate in a spirit of excellence will only happen when the Holy Spirit comes upon you (Daniel 6:3 NKJV).
When we carry on reading Daniel 6:4-27 we see that Daniel had no fault and the bible says that they conspired and consulted together and decided to test him in his relationship with God. There was a devious plan set out to entrap Daniel and cause him to violate compliance if he is pure. The king who loved Daniel was deceived and unaware of the plan (Daniel 6:10).
Daniel opened his windows with intent and on purpose. Daniel’s faith was a violent faith, a stubborn faith, so that when he violated compliance and worshiped God, everybody would see him doing it. This is what resulted in Daniel being thrown into the lion’s den. In verse 22 we read how Daniel testified to the King that God had sent His angel to shut the mouth of the lions because he was found innocent before God.
The devil will test your relationship with God, he will do things to set you up and to find your weaknesses. But God is looking for those who will not compromise. God will always respond to your faith and reveal Himself as the master strategist. He will turn every situation around for His glory.
It is those who are in faith that will make it through the storms of life!
Just as God responded to Daniel’s faith and caused a King to recognize the God of Daniel, the one true Living God, may your faith cause unbelievers to cry out to God they witness through you (Daniel 6:25-27)!
