DON’T LEAVE JERUSALEM

Have you ever felt that you are in the wrong place?

Have you ever thought that maybe I should move from where I am, to somewhere else?

Have you ever wondered if God truly called you to the place where you are at?

Many struggles with such suggestions and unfortunately, we are living in a day and age where so many easily jump ship and sadly do not stay in one place long enough to allow God to grow them.

The reason for this is because the moment that people go through a difficult time and enter their season of testing, they immediately abort their time of shaping and equipping for something greater to come, thinking that it is because they are not where they are supposed to be. This however is an age-old strategy of the enemy to remove you from the will of God.

But when you study scripture you will find that Jesus said “wait in Jerusalem”

This article will give guidance to those finding themselves at a crossroad not knowing what to do next.

  1. Understand that your future and prophetic destiny is locked up in the place where God called you to:

When you move into the opposite place that God called you to you will start to go on a downwards journey and a lot of things will start to go wrong in your life.

If God does not recognise where you stand then the enemy wont either, this gives the enemy ground to attack.

 DO NOT LEAVE JERUSALEM

And being assembled together with them, He commanded them not to depart from Jerusalem, but to wait for the Promise of the Father, “which,” He said, “you have heard from Me; for John truly baptized with water, but you shall be baptized with the Holy Spirit not many days from now.”

ACTS 1:4-5 NKJV

This passage of scripture provides us with two very important aspects:

  1. We must wait on the Lord
  2. We must wait for the Lord

Waiting on the Lord:

Waiting on the Lord means to serve God in whatever capacity possible. This can also be to spend time in the secret place. The Bible says, that the kingdom of God is not in word but in power. And so, the ability to demonstrate kingdom power is locked up in time spend in the secret place

Waiting for the Lord:

This simply means to wait for God until he shows up. The Bible says that we must be still and know that He is God. It is in this waiting for the Lord that we start to develop a great quality known as perseverance, a quality that will be needed in order for you to finish this race strong.

  1. There is great spiritual significance locked up in the journey that Jesus took on His way to Jerusalem that we need to understand:

Mark 11 shows us that Jesus traveled to three places before He finally gets to Jerusalem:

1.Bethany:

The Bible records that Jesus started at Bethany before going anywhere else.

Bethany is the date house; it represents the place where you first encounter the Lord Jesus. This is the place where your spirit man becomes reborn, your heart gets set on fire as a new holy hunger is stirred up on the inside of you.

In Bethany the Lord Jesus becomes your desire, passion and reason for living. The only thing that you now want to do is that which is right and truthful in the sight of God.

Before you will be able to advance to the next place you will first need to encounter the raw power and love of God.

2. Canaan:

Canaan means the place of the reeds where the river flows. This place represents a place where the anointing flows. It is of the utmost importance that you move from Bethany to a place of the anointing where you now start to dwell in the presence of God.

It is in Canaan where miracles take place, the first miracle happened when the river started to flow. This is where you start to experience great levels of breakthrough as it is the anointing that destroys the yoke.

The anointing is the presence of the Holy Spirit, and the Bible says that you shall receive power after the Holy Spirit has come upon you. Meaning that it is the anointing that will give you the ability to preach the Word of God with a demonstration of kingdom power.

This experience will prepare you for Capernaum.

3. Capernaum:

Capernaum represents two things:

  1. Chaos
  2. Disorder

When you study scripture, you will find that when the presence Holy Spirit invades an atmosphere, that His presence will always contradict, override and cancel out the darkness, chaos and death that is manifesting in that place with His peace, life, light and joy.

And so, after you encountered God in Bethany you will move into Canaan where you will receive the power of the Holy Spirit, so that God can use you in a dying and broken world to manifest His healing and restoration as you establish the authority of God here on earth.

4. Jerusalem:

The final place is Jerusalem, a place of prayer and provision!

It’s very important for you to stay in Jerusalem, no matter how difficult it gets. Remember that it is in this place where God will provide for you. In Jerusalem you will have peace, rest and safety, no matter what the world is throwing at you, because it is the perfect will of God.

DO NOT LEAVE JERUSALEM
