7 Keys to Provoke Favour
I’ve heard many times over the subject of favour being preached but have you ever stopped to wonder why it may not be manifesting in your life? You desire the favour of God in all areas but have you been equipped to align yourself with everything Heaven has for you?
You can provoke the favour of God upon your life by following these 7 keys according to scripture.
- RIGHT STANDING WITH GOD
12 For You, O Lord, will bless the righteous; With favour You will surround him as with a shield.
Psalm 5:12 NKJV
It is plainly seen in the above scripture that if you are righteous (In right standing with God), then you will be surrounded with favour.
10 “Say to the righteous that it shall be well with them, For they shall eat the fruit of their doings.
Isaiah 3:10 NKJV
I want to encourage you that you do not have to beg any man or compromise in any area in order to receive breakthrough or promotion. Be steadfast and in right standing with God and you will eat of the fruit of your doings. Take courage!
- CONSISTANT EXPECTATION
What you don’t expect, you won’t experience.
14 So shall the knowledge of wisdom be to your soul; If you have found it, there is a prospect, And your hope will not be cut off.
Proverbs 24:14 NKJV
20 according to my earnest expectation and hope that in nothing I shall be ashamed, but with all boldness, as always, so now also Christ will be magnified in my body, whether by life or by death.
Philippians 1:20 NKJV
As faith is unseen, so is expectation. Just because you can’t see it doesn’t mean that it isn’t there. As likened to faith, if expectation is lacking – nothing will happen. Wake up every day with earnest expectation for what God is going to do for you.
- LOVE FOR GOD AND THE CHURCH
This is a crucial key to walk in divine favour and find favour in the sight of the Lord.
9 But as it is written: “Eye has not seen, nor ear heard, Nor have entered into the heart of man, The things which God has prepared for those who love Him.”
1 Corinthians 2:9 NKJV
The more you love God, the more he’ll love you.
In 1 Chronicles 28:4 we see that David mentions that God likes him. I would like to stress that God loves everyone but He only likes some. You may be asking yourself “how can he possibly say that?” - Let me be practical with you: As a Christian your duty is to love everyone but you cannot claim to like everyone.
The reason why God overlooked David’s faults was because of his Honour & Love towards Him. That is why the Bible says that David became a man after God’s own heart.
33 But seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all these things shall be added to you.
Matthew 6:33 NKJV
We need to seek God’s Kingdom first. In doing so, If we prioritise his Kingdom he will prioritise us.
- YOU NEED TO ENCOUNTER AGENTS OF FAVOUR
Now this topic is somewhat controversial in the body of Christ and although I can attest to this principle in my own life, I wanted to address this in the hope that someone may implement this and receive their breakthrough.
In the Body of Christ there are different Graces and Anointings. You can meet someone with a healing Grace and that Grace can fall on you, the same is true with favour, the Grace of favour that someone carries can be imparted to you.
The Gift that you honour will determine what you receive. In Exodus 3:7-10 NKJV we see that 3 Million people experienced the favour of God through Moses.
- HUMILITY
People don’t realise that God himself resists the proud. Without regular introspection and circumcision of the heart, we are in danger of falling into pride.
10 Humble yourselves in the sight of the Lord, and He will lift you up.
James 4:10 NKJV
6 Therefore humble yourselves under the mighty hand of God, that He may exalt you in due time,
1 Peter 5:6 NKJV
Never magnify yourself in your own eyes and act greater than what you are. This is an assured way to be made insignificant. Promotion comes from the Lord – remain humble.
- RIGHT COMPANY
The company you keep will either push you towards the call of God or pull you away from the call. The right company will also cause favour to flow towards you.
33 Be not deceived: evil communications corrupt good manners.
1 Corinthians 15:33 NKJV
In Psalms 1: 1-6 God sternly warns us to be mindful of who’s counsel we walk in and who we associate ourselves with, this is of great importance.
- THANKSGIVING
One of the most pivotal keys is to live in constant gratitude. Observe any man that God is using mightily and you’ll see that they all have one thing in common – Gratitude!
19 Then out of them shall proceed thanksgiving And the voice of those who make merry; I will multiply them, and they shall not diminish; I will also glorify them, and they shall not be small.
Jeremiah 30:19 NKJV
I love this portion of scripture because of the revelation it carries. Notice that God is saying that he will not multiply you in number, but in status.
47 praising God and having favour with all the people. And the Lord added to the church daily those who were being saved.
Acts 2:47 NKJV
It is of my opinion that if you have truly encountered the love of God, gratitude is automatic and it is the catalyst to walk in favour.
